AGARTALA, April 7 – An alert was sounded throughout Tripura and along the 856-km- long porous Indo-Bangla border following serial blasts in Guwahati yesterday.
Police said security was beefed up at vital installations like Civil Secretariat, Raj Bhavan and important government buildings and search operations have been launched in all the towns of the State, including the State capital here.
Bomb squad personnel along with sniffer dogs launched search operations in hotels and other places in the towns to ascertain if any bomb was planted.
Border Security Force sources said they also intensified patrolling and increased surveillance along the Indo-Bangla border in Tripura following the blast so that no terrorist or any member of any fundamentalist group could enter the State. – PTI
