Allahabad HC acquits Pandher in Rimpa Halder murder case

The Allahabad High Court today acquitted Moninder Singh Pandher of all charges in Rimpa Halder murder case, due to lack of concrete evidence against him. Pandher was one of the co-accused in the murder of several children in Nithari in 2006, along with Surinder Singh Kohli. However, the court today upheld Kohli's death sentence.

Pandher's lawyer, told reporters that he was in Australia at the time of crime and was not aware of the occurrence. She also maintained that it was his servant, Surinder Kohli, who had committed the crime. However, Pandher remains convicted in other Nithari killings case.

13-year-old Rimpa Halder used to work as a maid in Pandher's house. She was one of the 19 children killed in the gruesome Nithari killings.

The duo were arrested in December 2006. The trials of other murders in the Nithari case are still on.
