GUWAHATI, Feb 14: Yoga guru Swami Ramdev has urged upon the people of Assam to help promote a society free of corruption, insurgency and diseases, right from the village level.

Ramdev has embarked on a nationwide campaign for a corruption-free nation from the village level under his Bharat Swabhiman programme.

“Many Indian politicians and bureaucrats are corrupt. They have black money amounting to about one hundred lakhs of crores of rupees deposited in Swiss banks. The government needs to focus on eradication of corruption. If a government fails to prevent corruption, it has no right to remain in power,” said Ramdev while interacting with residents of Kokjhar village near Mirza in Kamrup district last night.

Ramdev said, “All the black money should be brought back to India from Switzerland to raise the living standards of the people, especially the poor, back home”. He urged upon the villagers to join the anti-corruption movement under the Bharat Swabhiman programme for a health country. The yoga guru also called for an end to insurgency in the region.
