Congress betraying minority people: Prafulla Mahanta

NAGAON, April 16: Congress has been betraying the minority people and did not do anything for the progress of indigenous Muslims of Asom but used the religious minorities as vote bank so far since 60 years of independence during their rule, said former Chief Minister Prafulla Mahanta while addressing a series of election meetings at Salpara, Ambagar and few other religious minority dominated areas under Samagari LAC. He also addressed several election meetings where he appealed all particularly Muslim voters to vote and elect Gunin Hazarika, AGP to the Lok Sabha. It may be mentioned that, in every meeting Muslim people gave rousing reception to Mahanta as their leader where in Abdul Aziz, MLA, Apurba Bhattacharya, Atul Sarma, Gunin Barua, MLA, also addressed. AGP candidate Gunin Hazarika also appealed to the voters, both Muslims and Hindus to elect him to the Lok Sabha as the sitting MP. Dip Gogoi has betrayed them for the last two terms and did nothing for the LACs under Kaliabor HPC in his last two terms. Mahanta in his speech said that, the AGP would always work for the development of all sections of people, particularly the Muslims as they are still backward and been betrayed by the Congress and used them as vote bank.
